Equinix FR5

FR5 is a data centre in central Frankfurt. It's one of seven data centres run by Equinix that are dotted in and around the city.

To give you a bit of FR5's history, Equinix first acquired colocation provider Ancotel GmbH back in 2012 to increase it's capacity in Frankfurt. Then, the following year, it acquired the Kleyer 90 Carrier Hotel, the facility in which Ancotel was based.

The facility was renamed FR5. It's a bit small and basic by Equinix's usual standards. For example, offers only half as much power as FR4. But that's the sort of price you pay for a more central Location.
