This is a small data centre with around 500 square metres of space. The facility is primarily intended for ISPs and other organisations that need a lot of connectivity.

To give you a bit of history, an institute that does researches subatomic physics (Nikhef) collaborated with an organisation that provides ICT services to Universities and other educational institutions (Vancis) to host the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX).

However, hosting here isn't restricted to members of AMS-IX.

It's a small data centre with around 1500 square meters of space.

Amsterdam Data Tower

Amsterdam Data Tower is a data centre in Amsterdam run by Digital Realty. It's in a Science Park close to the University of Amsterdam.

The facility used to be run by TelecityGroup and was called Telecity AMS1. Telecity was acquired by Equinix, and as part of the conditions required to get that takeover approved, Equinix promised the European Commission it would sell off two Amsterdam data centres. And so now this data centre is owned by Digital Realty.
